Since 2001, Alberta College of Massage Therapy has been an industry leader in massage therapy education across Canada. Programs are offered at 8 campuses in Calgary South, Edmonton – Southside, Edmonton – Downtown, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lloydminster, and Red Deer!
Spa Massage Practitioner – First Year Program (8 months)
The Spa Massage Practitioner program is a prerequisite for entry to the second year Massage Therapy program. The program provides students with the knowledge to provide a safe and ethical one-hour relaxation massage using a variety of Swedish Massage techniques. Students will also be introduced to Case History, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology and Hydrotherapy. Graduates of the SMP program have the ability to work independently or as an employee at spas, resorts or cruise ships. Upon completion of this program, graduates may obtain associate or student memberships with the associations listed below.

Massage Therapy Diploma – Second Year Program (10 months)
Students learn deep tissue massage, fascial release, facilitated exercises, history taking, orthopaedic assessments and treatment of pathologies of the entire muscular-skeletal system. Students practice in ACMT’s Student Clinic throughout the program. Graduates become Registered Massage Therapists upon joining an association.

Inspired, Flexible Learning
Alberta College of Massage Therapy offers an inspired, flexible program that lets you train for a career as a Registered Massage Therapist without putting your life on hold.
This progressive learning approach combines home study, in-class tutorials, and clinic practical time. Students study from home using ACMT’s online Learning Management System. ACMT instructors are always available through email to answer any questions. In-class sessions focus on hands-on learning.
